♦ Pampered Princess won her elim by 2-3/4 lengths in a career best 1:53.

♦ Her time of 1:53 is the fastest race mile by a three-year-old trotter this season.

♦ Tim Tetrick drove Pampered Princess for the first time in the elim. 
Her regular driver, John Campbell, is the co-owner of another Hambletonian finalist, Flirtin Man.

♦ Its always anxious when you get locked in a pocket; you just hope you can get out, Tetrick said. 
The mare is unbelievable. 
She had a lot of trot all the way to the wire. Shes just a great filly. Shes perfectly gaited. 
You can put a glass of water on her back, and it will just stay there. Shes all-around perfect.

♦ Pampered Princess is bidding to become the first filly to win the Hambletonian since 
Continentalvictory in 1996. She is seeking to become the 14th filly overall to win the race. 
She is the 160th filly to start the Hambletonian; the last was Norway But My Way in 2002, 
but she failed to reach the final.


♦ Last year, Pampered Princess was voted the best 2-year-old filly trotter in both the 
United States [Dan Patch Award] and Canada (OBrien Award).

♦ Stakes wins for Pampered Princess in 2006 included the $487,097 Oakville at Mohawk Racetrack 
in Ontario and divisions of the Robert Stewart, Champlain, International Stallion and Bluegrass. 
She was second to Possess The Magic in the Breeders Crown. Her only off-the-board finish was 
in the season-ending Goldsmith Maid, where she was seventh and was found to be sick.

♦ Pampered Princess finished second by a neck to Michelles Angel in a division of the Casual 
Breeze on June 1, but has won five in a row since that race. Her victories include the $499,892 
Elegantimage at Mohawk and the $350,000 Delvin Miller Memorial at the Meadowlands.


♦ This is the greatest trotting race in the world, co-owner David Anderson said. 
A filly of this caliber only comes around once in a lifetime and were going to take our shot against 
the boys and see if she can prove that. As my daughter says, Girl Power. Its a pretty special moment.

♦ The father-son team of Bob and David Anderson won the 2003 Hambletonian Oaks with Southwind Allaire, 
also trained by Jimmy Takter. Pampered Princess is their first Hambletonian finalist.

♦ The Andersons also are active in thoroughbred racing and expect to start a horse developed by Takter, 
Its Like This, in the Breeders Stakes at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto on August 5. 
The race is the third jewel in Canadas Triple Crown and is contested at 1-1/2 miles on the turf. 
Takters wife, Christina, is among the owners. The horse carries the Takter colors of green, black and white.

♦ Jimmy Takter won the 1997 Hambletonian with Malabar Man. 
He has Pampered Princess and Dont Blink Twice in this years race, 
marking his seventh straight year with at least one finalist.

♦ Three Takter-trained fillies have won the Hambletonian Oaks: Passionate Glide in 2006, 
Southwind Allaire in 2003, and Gleam in 1994.

♦ Takter, 46, of East Windsor, NJ is a native of Sweden. 
He followed his father, trainer Bo W. Takter, into harness racing and has been working around horses since he was five. 
In addition to Malabar Man, he is best known for his work with two-time Horse of the Year Moni Maker, 
who was the sports richest horse [$5.5 million] when she retired in 2000. Other standouts have included Armbro Prowess, 
Kadabra, Cabrini Hanover, Ken Warkentin, Solveig, and Tom Ridge. 
Takter was honored as Trainer of the Year in 1996 and 2000 by the U.S. Harness Writers Association.
