Maven won her $25,000 Breeders Crown elimination in 1:51.4, a world record for 4-year-old mare trotters, Saturday night (Oct. 12) at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
Win Missy B shot out to the lead and fired a 27.3 first quarter with Real Babe second, Maven in third and Beatgoeson Hanover in fourth. Intense America broke and Check Me Out trotted in the back of the six-horse field.
Win Missy B went faster, cutting the half in 55, but driver Yannick Gingras had pulled Maven and was going after Win Missy B at the 1:23.2 three-quarters. Though those two dueled for a bit, Maven had no problem passing Win Missy B when Gingras asked her for more and the rest of the field began to pass a fading Win Missy B as the trotters zoomed down the stretch.
Racing from behind, Check Me Out got up to be second and Beatgoeson Hanover finished third.
Cedar Dove will be the fifth mare in the final by virtue of her earnings after finishing fifth in the first division earlier in the evening.
Jonas Czernyson trains Maven, a Glidemaster-M Stewart daughter owned by W.J.Donovan and bred by All La Nuova Sbarra SRL.
�I think she�s just getting back into herself; she�s feeling very sharp at the moment," Czernyson said. "She�s doing everything right. I don�t know why, we haven�t changed anything, but she�s getting better and better. I�m happy that it happened right now.
�I�m always surprised when they go that fast (when she won at Delaware), but I was more worried about her being in the lead because she doesn�t really like being in the lead. But when they turned for home she said it was time to go and did it pretty good.
�Yannick said she was razor-sharp so hopefully we can be good for next week. Yannick is pretty sharp so I think he�ll get her where she needs to be.�
Bax Of Life wins first elim
Bax Of Life, with driver John Campbell, got up in the final steps to beat co-favorite D�orsay in the first Breeders Crown elim division for mare trotters in 1:52.4.

The two mares battled into the stretch with D�orsay holding on until Campbell got Bax Of Life a nose to the best to win for trainer Jerry Duford, who owns the Windsong�s Legacy-Bax Machine mare with Joanne Wray.
Up late to get third was Unefoisdansmavie. Four races back Bax Of Life was scratched injured in the the Muscle Hill at Vernon Downs. Trainer Duford explained �She hurt her eye in the stall. We think she got stung by a bee. We didn�t know if she was going to lose her eye or what was going to happen.�
Bax Of Life came back to be third at the Delaware, Ohio fair and won a conditioned event before finishing third to Maven at The Red Mile.
�She raced really good {at The Red Mile], Duford said. �She�s a pretty good filly. She�s in the top three or four I think. We�ll find out.�
Bax Of Life paid $3.80 to win.
